2 - 4. Crusades came to be known for their cruelty and the pain they caused to a lot of people. They committed sacrilege despite seemingly having kind motives and aspirations at first. Their wanton behaviour astonished and frightened the Byzantines.
5. If you stand rooted to the spot it's usually because of being petrified and fettered by fear.

1. I completely agree with the idiom 'flattery will get you nowhere' and think that being genuine and honest is most important and will make your words way more helpful to others.
2. King David mentions 'affliction' in Psalms which usually has a negative connotation, but he views it as something beneficial and 'good' when reflecting on his own life.
3. The Lord is plenteous in mercy and loves His people in such a way that we cannot even imagine.
4. Humanity was granted dominion over the animals by God, and despite humans lapse from virtue, we must protect and take care of them as best we can.
5. I enjoy listening to different kinds of secular music on the daily basis, but I strongly believe that when it comes to classical music, it should be listened to live and preferably in the concert hall with good acoustics, otherwise you wouldn't be able to truly feel and appreciate the beauty of it.

1-5. We know about a lot of martyrs that were persecuted because of their proclamation of Christian faith. They were reviled, but their piety remained unwavering. And so, Our Heavenly Father will bring justice to all that were wronged. We are told 'great is your reward in heaven' and know that righteousness will prevail. The peacemakers and the meek will rejoice and 'every wrong will be made right' (Mark 4:26-27).

1 - 3. It's easy to forget in vanity and constant hustle of the present world the true goal of our life - Salvation. This material world will come to nothing: 'for dust you are and to dust you will return' (Genesis 3:19). Our present world will perish in the end, so we should perform deeds of mercy while we can.
4,5. In the book 'Pollyanna' there is a quote that stayed with me since my childhood: 'if God took the trouble to tell us eight hundred times to be happy and rejoice, he must have wanted us to do it'. It is a little naive and childish, but during hard times it always reminds me that I should not be disheartened and try to stay hopeful no matter what - 'Rejoice and be exceedingly glad' (Matthew 5:12).

3. If you constantly remind yourself that God has redeemed you and forgiven your sins, you will be more merciful to others.
