| 1. Many foreigners on multiple occassions have told me that the FRAGRANCE was one of the most memorable features of Russian churches they could name.

1. I've always loved eating ALTAR LOAVES after the Liturgy, since I was a child. My father is a priest, and he sometimes was bringing some unconsecrated altar loaves that had were left for me and my siblings.
2. The light that comes from OIL LAMPS is really beautiful, calming and warm (warm not only for the body, but for the soul as well).

| God’s desire is that our lives would give off a FRAGRANCE of Jesus to those around us.
When the Deacon notes that the Priest is hearing confessions in the nave or on the solea, he takes a blessing upon the CENSER and begins the CENSING within the Altar in the normal way, then departs from the Altar and censes the iconostasis.
"DEUTEROCANONICAL" means "second canon." Originally, it was meant to designate a class of books that were in between the canonical and non-canonical books.
A hYMN is a song of praise, adoration, or a prayer directed usually to some religiously significant figure.
The Altar is located beyond the ICONOSTASIS, or the screen. It houses THE HOLY TABLE and other sacred objects.

This life we live is ANTICIPATION. It is often that the ANTICIPATION of something can be even more exciting then that which is being ANTICIPATED.

| When I was a pupil, my classmate was a SERVER. I couldn’t see him on AMBO alone, but he usually helped our priest to hold the microphone, while he PREACHED. As for me, I sang in a church choir and still sing. All members of the choir know a lot of LITANIES.

I RECEIVED BAPTISM when I was a child. When I was a child I also took part in the COMMUNION first time in my life. When I was in the fifth grade I knew nothing about THE HOLY WEEK, because I never had a Lenten fast. But from the sixth grade and to this days I’m trying to have CONFESSION and COMMUNION more often, especially during HOLY WEEK.

| The tradition of Orthodox Christian women wearing VEILS is and always has been part of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
On Easter evening, ten of the DISCIPLES had locked themselves in THE UPPER ROOM where they celebrated the Last Supper with Jesus.
The CHALICE was so important that the church started to officially regulate the construction, blessing, and treatment of chalices.
Once THE LAMB HAS BEEN BROKEN by the Priest into the four IC XC NI KA portions, these are inverted and placed upside-down upon the diskos.
THE AER is rectangular in shape and corresponds to the VEIL used to cover the chalice and paten in the Latin liturgical rites, but is larger.
