| MARCIONISM is a herecy, because it contradicts the Christian ideas of the Holy Trinity and Jesus Christ's personality. For example, marcionists REJECT OF OLD TESTAMENT "GOD" IN FAVOR OF NEW TESTAMENT "GOD", that is, oppose two PERSONS of God. It is wrong, at least, because ALL THREE PERSONS ARE ABSOLUTELY EQUAL and GOD IS ONE IN ESSENCE. Marcionists also consider, that Christ was not born as a human, that is, was not embodied. It is not true, because Jesus Christ has TWO BATURES: He is FULLY DIVINE and OF ONE ESSENCE WITH THE FATHER, and He is FULLY HUMAN and ONE ESSENCE WITH MANKIND. He TRULY WAS BORN, LIVED, DIED and BODILY ROSE FROM THE DEAD, what was promised to the mankind when it is THE END OF TIME and CHRIST RETURNS AGAIN.

| APOCATASTASIS is a herecy, but I can understand people who want follow this teaching because the idea of the salvation of all people seems very comforting. In our class we mentioned that even some people in Orthodoxy, for example, metropolitan Kallistos Ware, believe in apocatastasis, but it doesn't mean we can blame him for FALLING INTO HERESY because he doesn't spread it wildly. The person who LAPSED INTO HERESY usually not only follows the wrong teaching but also preachs it. Acting as a CHAMPION of heresy is SERIOUS SIN.

| 1) Timotheus was one of pupils and SPIRITUAL DESCENDANTS of the apostle Paul.
2) TO CARE FOR THE SICK AND POOR and TO SHOW HOSPITALITY are not only SOCIAL OBLIGATIONS OF MONASTICISM but the duty of all Christians. But Monasticism is the most difficult way of serving God because monks must BE DETACHED FROM THE WORLD and avoid being TANGLED UP IN SECULAR ANXIETIES. This path is not for everyone, because the most of people think in a WORDLY WAY and it is very hard for them to not be ABSORBED IN WORDLY CONCERNS. 2) A conflict between Henry II and Thomas Becket and a conflict between Tsar Aleisei Mikhailovich and Nikon had something in common: both of them were based on troubles in RELATIONS BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE. And it is a really difficult point, because monarchy usually assumes a CLOSE ALLIANCE BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE, but for some religious and government figures there is a question of primacy of one of this institutions. The conflict appears when church and state start to compete for their rights, that's why it is important to make a distinction between THE THINGS OF CAESAR AND THE THINGS OF GOD, because it helps to understand that rights of church and state are equal but these institutions are responsible for different things: for state and spiritual – but they must help each other to maintain well-being in the country.
