| Elder Herman is absolutely right here. After all, James 4:10 says ‘Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.’ After all, some say that pride is the most dangerous of all passions, and what is humility if not the opposite of pride? That means that it is the most important of all virtues. We need good deeds for salvation, but are our good deeds worth anything if they are tainted by pride? This is precisely why humility is key. It is precisely what each and every one of us needs to keep our pride in check. This makes salvation sound easy, but it is certainly not. Because pride is one of the most difficult sins to avoid, while humility is the hardest virtue to keep. And oftentimes the easier one's life is, the harder it is to stay humble.

| I agree with the opinion of Saint Holy Elder Herman. Indeed, among all the virtues, humility is the most valuable and useful. No one is protected from pride, and it, like a drop of bitterness, can poison all the sweetness of our salvation. The benefactor may become proud and all his gifts will be in vain. An ascetic can become proud and his exploits and prayers will not be of any use. But I believe that a weak person who is fully aware of his sinfulness can be saved and pardoned by God. Awareness of one's sinfulness is the first step to salvation. It was by his humility that the Prudent Robber Good Thief, crucified next to Christ was saved. That is why Humility is so valuable.

| I fully agree with Elder Herman. The aim of our earthly life is to reach the Heavenly Kingdom. As guys said above, humility is the mother of all virtues. Without humility we cannot reach the Heavenly Kingdom. Humility teaches us how to live and how to communicate with people. Humility helps us to restrain ourselves in everything. But it is very difficult to always accept humility because we are all egoistic and love ourselves. But it seems to me that without humility it is even impossible to build normal relationships with people. Humility is absolutely necessary in everything and only then God rewards us.
