What kind of teacher do you find brings out the best in you?

To my mind, a passionate, self-emptying and sacrificing teacher BRINGS OUT the best in me. It should be those who are strict, inspiring, happy and kind at the same time. I'M TAKEN TO good humoured people and those who can TAKE IN your faults and drawbacks. A professional one should not talk down to students, think that he is cat's whiskers, or a know-all even if their students have a head like a sieve or nothing between ears. Such teachers should TAKE ON their own faults. A skilled specialist knows how to BRING ON liking of their subject. Moreover, they can BRING ABOUT their students to become teachers.

In my life I had a teacher who BROUGHT OUT the best in me and in my groupmates. It was Marianna Yurievna. With her we TOOK UP studying English. And BROUGHT ABOUT improvements in our language skills.

12 Do you think you are taking anything for granted?

To tell the truth, I didn’t realise that I TOOK many things FOR GRANTED till recently. It TOOK MY BREATH AWAY when I realised how ungrateful I might have been.

First of all, I was BROUGHT UP in a loving family, which consists of two parents and two children.
When I was a teenager, I was not able to appreciate my living in such great conditions. I was TAKEN IN by some thoughts that my family should have been better. For example, I wanted my family to be bigger, I dreamt of having younger sisters or brothers, maybe even adopted kids. I even tried to BRING ROUND my parents to these ideas. But only now I realise that not every family is so happy, so united, so caring of its members. There are many single-parent families or with only one child. Instead of giving thanks to God that He gave me such a family and BRINGING OUT THE BEST IN it, I only grumbled.

The other thing that I TOOK FOR GRANTED for many years, is my teachers. Sadly, but we should admit that teenagers are quite ungrateful. They often TAKE UP the habit to make fun of their teachers. They TAKE every OPPORTUNITY to observe teachers’ mistakes. What I’m concerned about now is the fact that we ourselves can TAKE AFTER our teachers in the future, and in the same way teenagers will treat us if we become their teachers.

The most dreadful thing is that we TAKE FOR GRANTED the love of God towards us. We should TAKE INTO ACCOUNT that we are absolutely unworthy of this love and that we did nothing good for Jesus Christ, He wasn’t obliged to be merciful to us. The love of God is sacrificial as well as the love of our parents and teachers.

These reflections BROUGHT some important ideas TO LIGHT. We’d better be grateful to the Lord for everything that we have because it’s fearful to imagine how we would do without it.

Where were you brought up?

I was BROUGHT UP in a small town called Peresvet. It’s really small. There are about 15 thousand of people living there. It’s quiet and slow. I went to school and church with my friends, spend time with my family and TOOK IT FOR GRANTED. I never thought that life can be different. That’s how it used to be until I visited Moscow.
Moscow TOOK MY BREATH AWAY. I TOOK TO IT at once. So, when I started thinking what I was going to do after leaving school, entering a Moscow university was the only answer for me. When I BROUGHT my plans TO LIGHT to my parents, I was glad to find out I didn’t have to BRING them ROUND, they agreed with me completely. I TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY and I BROUGHT it OFF. Now I’m TAKING PRIDE IN living in Moscow and studying at university. I hope after graduation I’ll find a way to stay here, because after living in Moscow, there is no way I could ever live in the place like where I was BROUGHT UP.

Where were you brought up?

The question of the area where I was BROUGHT UP always BRINGS a smile to my face. It always BRINGS BACK a lot of memories. I used to be inclined to TAKE my city FOR GRANTED. However, no more.

I was born in the city of Voronezh, which BROUGHT ALONG the Russian fleet, and now BRINGS OFF the task of supplying Russia with chernozem. When people in dialogue with me say that Voronezh is "some kind of small town", I jokingly recommend them TO TAKE their words BACK. I'm not TAKING OFFENSE, just BRING them OUT, reminding that Voronezh has a million people population.
If I had the opportunity to BRING my friends from other cities IN, I would TAKE them OUT to our embankment and make sure that they are TAKEN ABACK by the view of the "Goto Predestination", the museum ship. And then I would take you to your favorite TAKEAWAY restaurant.

Thoughts about my hometown and the fact that I will return there, BRING me THROUGH a lot of hard times.

Where were you brought up?

Well, I was BROUGHT UP in a city called Belgorod. But first two years I spent my life in a village because my parents decided that it would be great for my health. I don't remember this period as I was too young. But my mother told me a story that TOOK PLACE in this village. She said that I TOOK TO one dog that everyone was afraid of. Once, my parents lost me. Of course, THEY TOOK it seriously. They couldn't find me anywhere. They were looking for me for two or three hours. And suddenly it's BROUGHT TO LIGHT that I was sleeping in the dog’s house, with that dog everyone was afraid of. I didn't understand that I TOOK A RISK because I was very young. Eventually, everything ended well. My parents found me and they were happy.

It is very difficult to bring UP a child. The parents should TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. I don’t think that it’s good to TAKE CONTROL of the child. It is better to TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY and to TAKE IN your child. It’s not good to BRING THE CHILD ROUND and TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF him/her. TAKE PRIDE IN your child, try TO BRING OUT THE BEST IN him/her. You should be interested in what you child TOOK UP. Then your child could BRING IT OFF and be successful.

In what way do you find it easier to take in information - through reading or listening / watching?

There are plenty of ways of TAKING IN information and analysing it. Normally it depends on the age of the person. Children tend to perceive information better through listening and watching, the same ways can be applied to school pupils. However, as people grow older, it's easier to analyse information through reading. For example, at university students normally perceive information through reading.

If you had time to take up a new sport or other leisure activity, what would it be?

I am lucky because I grew up in a city where you can practice almost any sport, both summer and winter. For example, in a ski resort you can go snowboarding or skiing, try biathlon. The Olympic Park has both a football stadium and an ice arena for hockey and an ice rink for speed skating, figure skating or curling. There are also many bike paths. The presence of mountains makes it possible to engage in hiking sports. I love being active in general and have tried many sports. Excellent weather and a delightful climate are conducive to a healthy lifestyle and sports.
Skiing always TAKES MY BREATH AWAY. I feel free and unstoppable.
I TOOK UP dancing since I was 4 and I absolutely loved it. That was my favorite sport ever.
I immediately TOOK TO tennis. However, unfortunately, this sport is too expensive, since you need to pay for a coach, an assistant, and rent an entire court.
I would really like to try basketball. I think this sport would suit me, as I am quite tall and fast. Basketball is connected to American culture and history, which is also very interesting to me.
I would also like to try swimming, but I don't really like deep water, sea and lakes. But if you overcome fear, then everything will work out.
