| In spite of the fact that you are weak and imperfect, you are truly guilty for all the wrong things you do. Since you possess a will, all that comes forth from you is subject to that will. So in this sense, everything good counts in your favor and everything bad counts against you.

| In spite of the fact that you are weak and imperfect, you are truly guilty for all the wrong things you do. Since you posses a will, all that comes forth form you is subject to that will. So in this sense, everything good counts in your favor and everything bad counts against you. This is the quote of the father Jack Sparks. Personally I totally agree with it. I'll try to express my view on this issue.
God gave to the person absolute freedom. It means that people can choose what to do in different situations. We all can choose to act badly or well. We should overcome all the temptations around us although the number of them is huge. The Bible gives us a perfect example of Noah who was perfect among the others. He walked with God. The Bible shows us that we can be different when the others are sinners. As it is written in the Bible: "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be eccepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him" (KJV, Genesis: 4:7).
Of course, in the hustle and bustle of life, in sorrow and misfortune we forget about it, but we shall pray to the Lord for His mercy and for Him to help us keep our memory of it.

| Of course, we can’t deny that all people have free will and thus should be responsible for all their actions. It is their desire, their choice and their accountability in the end.
But at the same time, it is vital to remember that our human nature is fallen. That’s why sometimes, even when we tend to act according to Christian values, we fall short. Something disturbs, irritates us and we forget about our good intentions choosing the opposite way. Apostle Paul also noticed this propensity of ours: “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me” (Rom.7:19-20). It means that without God’s grace people are not able to conquer the iniquity that dwells in them.
Therefore, I agree with Fr. Jack Sparks, but only partly. We should remember that without the Lord’s succour we won’t subdue our passions.

| I agree with the meaning of the quote. Even if you have sinned because of weakness, you should repent and admit your own guilt. You shouldn't blame others, like Adam and Eve have done after the fall.
However, I didn't like the quote’s wording. I don’t like when a priest (not only Fr. Sparks, any priest) says “you are guilty” as if he were sinless. It would be more correct to say “we are guilty”.

| I agree with Fr. Jack Sparks. Clearly, having free will makes us responsible for both our good and bad actions. While we may be imperfect and often struggle with weaknesses, we still have the power to choose our responses and actions. This capacity for choice means that our good deeds genuinely reflect our effort and character, just as our harmful actions reflect areas we need to work on. We can’t blame weakness alone for our mistakes, as each choice still originates from our will. This perspective encourages us to own our actions and strive toward personal growth and accountability.

| The acknowledgement of our weaknesses and imperfection is a key to our salvation. The idea of the quote is to underline that we are nothing without God, everything we have is what He has given to us. Firstly, we need to accept our weaknesses. Secondly, after that we need to become better and stronger - be humble, keep a fast and finally resist our strongest earthly passions and desires. Only after resisting them will we be stronger and closer to the Paradise. So, thirdly, Fr. Jack Sparks reminds us to do good things more than bad ones, because we cannot be perfect and sinless, only saints can be.
To conclude, let's love ourselves the way we are, without forgetting to become better, stronger and eventually closer to God.

| I absolutely agree with these words of Fr. Jack Sparks. Very often human imperfection becomes an excuse for many Christians when it comes to sin. Many think, ‘Of course I sinned, I'm not a saint, I can't be sinless like God, even the Saints have sinned at some point in their lives’. But such an opinion is wrong. Life is given to us to overcome our passions and sins, it is a constant battle with ourselves, where any defeat should produce deep sorrow and remorse, the desire never to repeat this ‘defeat’.
Throughout our lives we must constantly control our passions and sins, crying out to God for help. One must never justify oneself, because in such a case full repentance is out of the question.

| I agree with this statement, but I feel that it is a bit too strong. We are responsible for the bad things that we do, but we should not be so pessimistic about them. We have the ability to confess and the desire to be forgiven. The priest at my church once told me that confession can absolve us of our sins. That is why we must remember that the sins we try to hide can never be truly forgotten and the only way to truly move forward is through honest confession. Therefore, while I agree with this idea, I do not like the pressure it puts on us.

| It seems to me that free will is a blessing that God has given us, but at the same time, it can be the most terrible gift for man. Thanks to this freedom, we can do terrible and forbidden things, but it also gives us the chance for salvation.
We often ask ourselves why a person made such a choice. Did they really have no other options? We can find many examples of these decisions in literature and history. No matter what the circumstances, each person carries the burden of their choices. But sometimes, the most important thing is not the action itself, but the path to repentance.

| Unfortunately, that's the truth true but most of us are prone to sweep it under the carpet. It's way easier to shift your responsibility to the fact of your imperfection. But even this peculiarity of ours does not free us from responsibility for everything we do. At the Last Judgment we will have to answer for everything. We are free to do good and to do bad. We are free to do whatever we want: « “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial» (1 Corinthians 6:12-13).
