| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient.
There are many ways to replenish your vocabulary, and more precisely, to memorize new words.
In my opinion, one of the main things in memorizing words is to do it so that is not boring. Who would like to just sit and cram? Besides, this is not the most effective way.
To make it more interesting to learn and memorize words, I suggest you listen to music, and then study the lyrics. Knowing the lyrics and listening to the songs, the words are remembered faster, since you know their spelling and perceive them by ear. I also advise you to read books, and look up words unknown to you in the dictionary or look up their definitions. One more tip that I like the most: to talk with yourself in English.
To sum up, I hope my tips will be useful and memorizing new words will be enjoyment to you!

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient.
There are many ways that can help in memorizing words and improving vocabulary. For me, the most effective are the use of cards, songs, watching movies and associations.
How do the cards work? This is the famous system of Sebastian Leitner. In this method, the cards are sorted into groups depending on how well the information on each card is assimilated. If a person remembers the meaning of the word, then the card is transferred to the next group. If he didn't remember, the card is returned to the first group. Each next group is revised at an increasing interval.
Songs and movies also help me remember words better. Listening to the song, I begin to carefully read the text and translate unfamiliar words. The same system applies to films. This method is effective because you are doing something pleasant for yourself.
How do I use associations? This is my first step on the way to memorizing a word. Of course, after that, I start learning a word in a phrase, or I find sentences with it, but my first step is using associations. That helps me to fix the word more firmly in my mind. This method is very simple. We take a foreign word and look at the spelling or pronunciation. And then we select an association. It can be phonetic or semantic, it doesn't matter, the main thing is to remember the word. For example, the word lean. It is consonant with the Russian word laziness. When we are lazy, we tend to do nothing. That is, in fact, we are leaning. That's about how associations are built.

| There is a great amount of ways of enlarging our vocabulary. I use different ones.
For example, I like reading books in English. Firstly, I read a chapter, underlining unknown words and collocations. I try to guess the meaning of these words and understand the general sense of the text. Then I take a dictionary and translate word by word, inscribing the translation above and trying to memorize it. A bit later, for example before going to bed, I reread the text. Then I understand the text better and many words are firmly remembered.
Of course, this type of enlarging vocabulary is quite slow. But this way we can learn some rare, interesting words and remember them in the context, which, I think, is very important.
Another way I use is watching films and videos in English on any topic I am interested in. Then I can learn some new words in context and also with their pronunciation. I have auditory memory, so it’s easy for me to memorize new information by ear.

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient.
There are many ways to enlarge your vocabulary. You can listen to music, read books, watch movies in English etc. All these methods are obvious, apparent and commonly used as they seem to be quite effective. Each option is good in its own way, and they are all considered to be wholesome. But can we assert them as being appropriate to everyone?
Scientists have proved that every individual perceives information and memorizes new information differently. Every person’s style of learning, for instance, new words, is either a visual, audial, tactile, or a combination of them. So not to make your effort to memorise something futile, before you begin try to find out who you are inherently. Find your own, individual way and follow it. For example, I by myself am rather the combination of variety of these styles. To learn a new word, so that it would get stuck in my head, I firstly, write it down. I have my own dictionary notebook where all the words are divided into groups. So, the first thing is to determine to which particular group the word belongs? The next step is to find synonyms to this word and a context in which it can be used apart from that where you have found it. By this I kill two birds with one stone: I am enlarging my vocabulary as well as learning a word. Finally, I try to use this word as often as you can. I use it in my speech, in my writings, wherever it can be suitable.

| Describe the way to enlarge your vocabulary that you find most efficient
There are a lot of different ways to enlarge your vocabulary. But at first I would like to give some examples based on my own life.
When I studied at secondary school I didn't pay much attention to broadening my vocabulary. So I had to follow the methods of my teacher and studied the words from textbooks without any passion. But soon I understood that I didn't have enough words to express my thoughts. That awareness gave me a motivation to enlarge my vocabulary with the help of methods which are still useful for me.
Firstly, I changed my meaningless surfing the internet to surfing English websites. I followed English-speaking bloggers and if I had a need of finding some information on the internet, I googled it in the English language. That helped me a lot to switch on the English way of thinking and to expand the number of peculiar words and collocations.
Secondly, I began to watch films with English audio and English subtitles. After a while, there was not anymore a need to watch films with subtitles and now I'm trying to watch all foreign films in the English language. That tip gave me a great amount of new words and even made my accent a little bit better.
3
1) When you study English on a high level that gives you an opportunity to distinguish GRAMMATICAL CHARACTERISTICS without any help or textbooks. 2) COLLOCATIONS can show native speakers how wide your knowledge is. 3) I always pay attention to a SENSE OF HUMOUR when I get acquainted.

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient.
There are many ways to effectively memorize vocabulary. I'll highlight a few of my favorites.
First of all, I want to mention the way I was taught in elementary school. You need to buy stickers or any other self-adhesive pieces of paper, write on them the words that should be learned, and their translation, then paste these words, for example, around your room. The bottom line is that these words will loom before your eyes constantly, which will help you remember them.
The second way is to use words in the story. It's like learning new words in context. The advantage of this method is that in addition to memorizing new words, you also practice speaking, which of course only benefits you.
So, I have given an example of two methods, because I personally find them the most effective for myself, but if I choose from these two, I would prefer the second, and as the reason for this can be given my love of chatting in English.

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient.
The most efficient way for me to memorise new vocabulary is through songs, cartoons, and TV series in English. For many years, I have been watching animated shows only in the original language with Russian subtitles. I think this practice has helped me a lot to remember new words, because I see them in context and hear how they are actually pronounced.
As for songs, I usually look up the translation online first to understand the meaning. After that, I listen to the song again and again, already knowing what it is about and what words it contains. With repetition, the vocabulary becomes familiar and naturally sticks in my memory.
In this way, I don't just memorise isolated words, but connect them with emotions, melodies, and situations from the shows. I find this method both effective and enjoyable.

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient. For me, the most effective way to memorize words and phrases is to visualize scenarios where I might use them. Regularly reviewing the vocabulary and actively incorporating it into both my writing and speaking is also crucial.
Describe the way to enlarge your vocabulary that you find most efficient. For me, one of the most effective ways to expand my vocabulary is watching YouTube videos, particularly those in the ASMR format. I enjoy videos where people whisper about their daily lives, role-play interesting scenes, or review products. This not only relaxes me but also immerses me in a particular atmosphere. I find that words are retained more easily this way, and my listening comprehension improves as well.

| There are multiple ways to learn new words worked out by generations of language learners and teachers. After all, it is one of the most challenging and frequent tasks that await any foreign language enthusiast.
I would like to share the ways of learning new words that have worked best for me over the years. The key is repetition, and outside the country where the language is primarily spoken it might be difficult to find enough situations in which to use the freshly learnt word. That's where keeping a "voice diary" comes in - sending a voice note to self with a phrase any time it fits the circumstances of your life. It also helps my other point: getting passionate about something in the language you're learning. Somehow, where sincere human emotions are involved everything just falls into place. The occupied mind will gladly use any new word to the furthering of the discussion on the subject of interest.
During class I learnt that there are 500,000 words in the English language. They ought to fit into our heads somehow - we might as well extend a helping hand!Добавлено (13.09.2025, 17:50) --------------------------------------------- 3-sentence text: I FEEL GUTTED by something PRETTY DREADFUL that happened to me yesterday. I BADLY NEEDED a haircut, my ends really BUGGED ME even after COMBING the hair thoroughly. And I thought I had made myself very clear to the stylist, I wanted a retro cut. It turns out, I failed to PUT that message ACROSS. It is okay now, though. I got a new haircut and now whenever I ALIGHT FROM A BUS, the air does not mess up my hair. But that was some ride. One might even say I BORE THE COST OF not LAUNCHING IN a detailed explanation of what exactly it is I want.

| Describethe way to enlarge your vocabulary that you find most efficient There are a lot of ways to enlarge your vocabulary, but, I think, all of them can be divided into two general methods which I would call a “receptive way” and a “productive way” of enlarging vocabulary.
The receptive ways of learning vocabulary come down to one essence: just consume any content in the language you learn. Seriously, it could be anything: movies, cartoons, books, comics, magazines, songs, podcasts, social media, etc. Whatever you like to read, to listen or to watch can help you learn more words and develop your language skills, such as listening, reading and grammar. The best or the most convenient way of enlargingvocabulary for you personally depends on your preferences and on your type of perception. For example, personally, I am a visual person, and the best way of learning new words for me is to see them. That’s why I prefer reading or watching films with subtitles (this way also helps me improve my listening skills which are not so developed). But some people have the audial type of perception and for them it would be more convenient to listen songs, podcasts or audiobooks. The best way to enlarge your vocabulary and develop your language skills is to combine all types of content. To make the process of learning new vocabulary even more beneficial, I would recommend you to combine learning language with your other professional or personal interests. For example, if you are a student, you can search for academic literature in language you learn.
The so-called productive way consists of using the language you learn as much as possible. Because when you try to speak or to write anything in language you need to pick up new words anyway. Try to make sentences and dialogs in your head, if you notice any object, try to remember or to learn how it is called in the language you learn. When you write any texts, try to find interesting words and collocations to make your vocabulary richer. So, when you use the language, you just can’t avoid searching for new words and memorising them.
In the end, I should say, the best way to enlarge your vocabulary is to use both of these methods, because it develops your language on several levels at once.

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient. Since elementary school I've been using a method that my mother taught me. It involves covering the Russian translation of words in a dictionary with a piece of paper, reading the English word and translating it aloud. Then I reverse the process by covering the English word, reading the Russian translation, and identifying the English equivalent. This helps me memorize words within a specific topic and prepare for dictations. The most effective approach for me is to engage all types of memory as much as possible. I learn vocabulary aloud, then write it down several times from memory, first by reciting the Russian translation and then the English vocabulary. Transcription is also very helpful. If you know how to pronounce a word correctly, you are more likely to be able to write it correctly as well.

| Describe the way to memorise vocabulary that you find most efficient.
There are many ways to memorize new words that I've tried during school and university. I found writing down a very useful way because I think it activates my visual memory. It works with big texts too. I also like remembering new vocabulary by using flashcards and I think it is fun to use them with friends. There are an app named "Quizlet" that helped me a lot of times when I had no time to write down new words by hand. And also one of my favourite way is making associations with vocabulary because it's fun and it makes the process easier for me.

| I keep a dedicated vocabulary journal. When I meet a new word, I write it down with a translation or simple definition, but the crucial step is adding three simple sentences with it. This creates a personal connection, the word is no longer abstract. I review this journal regularly, reading my own notes. I also group words by theme in this journal, not by date. For example, all words related to cooking or to parts of body. This builds semantic networks in my head and make recall easier because words are connected by meaning.

| I think that each language has its own way to learn vocabulary. For English, my focus is on collocations. Simply memorising words is not effective; learning its natural using in natural speech is much comfortable. I use phrases in context, writing sentences and stories to learn them. For Chinese language the most effective technique for me is the associative method. I’m breaking down full hieroglyph into their components and creating a story, where abstract symbols become memorable images. This imaginative process makes studying and learning more interesting and exciting.
