| What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an extrovert? An introvert? I would like to know what the advantages and disadvantages of being an extrovert are, but my opinion is just an outsider point of view. When I imagine a typical extrovert I think of a really BRIGHT person, GIFTED with charisma, SOCIABLE, who is not afraid to be in the highlight. I believe, such people are good actors, comedians, if they have a good sense of humor, of course. We say about them in Russia that "the stage loves them", they know how to capture people's attention, they're confident and usually full of energy. We tend to think that extroverts are always OPEN, but in fact, I'm sure they sometimes have bad days, when they become quiet and sad, too. Although they are GREGARIOUS, as a rule, they naturally have only a couple of true loyal friends to whom they can tell about their problems, can open up and rely on. It seems to everyone that an extrovert is an open book, but this isn't so. Any person is an exclusive world, a singular universe. Extroverts prefer to share only positive emotions with others, but this does not mean that they don't experience negative emotions or don't become JEALOUS or AGGRESSIVE. Therefore, if you believe that you know someone just because they are an extrovert, you are mistaken. I'm a fish in water when it comes to introverts. We don't like attention, it makes us feel TENSE. Introverts can be quite SELF-ASSURED, but they don't look so it public. Introverts are not certainly PESSIMISTIC, they are either less emotional than extroverts are, or they express emotions freely, but become shy rapidly, if notice that someone is staring at them. Contrary to popular belief, introverts can be really AMBITIOUS, but they don't discuss their future plans with anyone. One friend of mine took third place in an international physics tournament, and all of his near and dear ones, including his mother, found out about it from news reports in the Internet. Introverts may appear to have mild personalities, but this is not always the truth. We may be BOSSY and OBSTINATE, even PUSHY. It's essential to be careful with introverts' personal space. We need to be alone with ourselves regularly or in some days. Practice shows that this feature can make our friends feel puzzled and like if we were distancing ourselves from them. It can be difficult to be friends with an introvert, and sometimes people think that introverts are more of a men of action. So, they try to judge us based on our actions, which is good, but they shouldn't ascribe to us thoughts or motivations. Sometimes people just need to ask about what's bothering them face-to-face, and there's a good chance that before they get embarrassed and run away, an introvert will respond with or run and then send a text message.

| To what extent do you think the fear of looking foolish is an obstacle to being enquiring and ambitious?
In my opinion, the fear of looking foolish can indeed be a serious obstacle to curiosity and ambition. I know this from personal experience. I have always felt a creative impulse to perform on stage, whether by singing or acting in a play. However, whenever I imagine myself standing in front of an audience, my knees begin to tremble and my words sometimes get mixed up. This happens because I am tense and afraid that people will think I am silly or even stupid.
At the same time, I realise that this fear is not entirely logical. Many talented and gifted people face the same problem, yet they manage to overcome it. If I let my fear dominate me, I might miss valuable opportunities for growth. On the other hand, when I take a more optimistic attitude and remind myself that mistakes are natural, I feel more relaxed and able to express myself.
Therefore, I believe that while the fear of looking foolish is a powerful obstacle, it can be overcome with persistence, courage, and self-acceptance.

| 9. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an extrovert? An introvert? Each of us an individual person. We have our own unique character, thoughts and feelings. But, very roughly speaking, we can be divided into two types: introverts and extroverts. I can’t say that one type is better than the other. Moreover, I don't even think I can compare them, because an introvert and an extrovert are two completely different people. But all things have advantages and disadvantages, because this world is far from perfect, so it will be interesting to see it in the example of introverts and extroverts.
When we see or imagine an extrovert, we involuntarily imagine a smiling, sociable, open-minded person. That’s the greatest advantage. They find it easy to make friends and enjoy being the center of attention. They are often turn out to be easy-going. But the disadvantage is that they might sometimes seem bossy and assertive (especially for introverts). They might also find it difficult to spend time alone, which is important for reflection.
Now, speaking about introverts, at first glance, it is difficult to identify any advantages, because society is used to seeing them as melancholic, pessimistic and lonely. But actually they’re not alone. They just don’t have such wide circle of friends as extroverts have, because they don't open up to everyone, only to those they trust. Introverts are often very sensible and down-to-earth. They are happy alone with their thoughts, which can make them very creative and reliable workers. They’re rarely seen as pushy. The disadvantage is that they can be perceived as less confident or even odd in different communities. Sometimes their preference for solitude might be perceived incorrectly as being rude or ill-mannered. But they’re simply sensitive and need quiet time to recharge.
By the way, I recently read that psychiatrists have identified a new personality type: the otrovert. Dr. Rami Kaminsky, a New York psychiatrist, coined this term in 2025. Otroverts may appear sociable, but they always feel "out of place" on the inside. Unlike introverts, they don't withdraw into themselves, and unlike extroverts, they don't derive pleasure from socializing and being part of a group. They don't shy away from socializing, but they are cautious about group activities and prefer depth over superficial fun.
In conclusion, neither personality is better, as I said earlier. Being extroverted helps in building wide social networks, while being introverted fosters deep thinking. The world needs a balance of both.

| Have you grown more or less sensitive over the years?
I think, I have grown less sensitive over the years and there are a lot of both pluses and minuses.
On the one hand, I became less anxious and don't feel very tence 24/7 as it was in my childhood and teenage. I'm less pessimistic now and it is harder to make me upset, than it was earlier, because the external troubles and inner struggles don't feel so sharp as they did. But such losing of emotionality also has a downside. In my opinion, being less sensitive, I am less able to feel some things as deeply as I did. I can't empathize with other people as strongly, some things don't bring me so bright emotions (whether they are positive or negative) as earlier, and my sensual perception of the world in general became more balanced but less bright.
So, I feel as if the losing of sensitivity closed my eyes to something which can not be seen by our external vision. And I'm sure, I've lost a part of understanding of some sorts of things which can not be achieved by our rational mind.

| What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an optimist? A pessimist? The advantage of optimism is a better emotional state. Optimists usually feel less daily stress and more happiness. This outlook helps in building social connections, as people are often drawn to positive individuals. But there also are some disadvantages, for example an optimist might fail to see real dangers or take necessary actions to avoid them. The advantage of pessimism is realism. Pessimists are less likely to be surprised by negative events. They carefully analyze what could go wrong. The disadvantage is reduced opportunity, because expecting failure can stop a pessimist from trying new things or taking beneficial risks. As for me, being an optimist is much better, and I myself try to be one.

| There are very few things all human beings have in common. Among those is the fact that everyone is born and everyone dies, and in between those two, each one of us seeks success. Undoubtedly, across different cultures, and throughout written history, all sorts of paths leading to success have been established. Moving through the living field of mystery we all call life, we are wired to look for opportune moments, shortcuts that hopefully won't turn into detours, and in the case that they do, derive as much knowledge from those experiences as possible in order to use it in our future attempts at success.
The question of what qualities we should strive to possess in order to be as successful as possible in life arises. Being CUNNING and CRAFTY might end up playing to our disadvantage in the long run, while being TRUSTWORTHY and HONEST usually gets people farther in life, mostly because of the reputation these qualities build for a person.
One thing might be assumed: it all comes down to how we relate to other people in our interactions and how we handle crises that will inevitably arise on our way to success. In our relationships, even the most insignificant ones, it's best to be GREGARIOUS, which implies friendliness and visceral pursuit of the company of others, and if we know anything about people, it is that they do like being pursued, and they indeed like us more if we like them first. As for the best way to handle any conflict or hardship that comes our way, there isn't any better option than keeping a level head and being EVEN-TEMPERED. Even-tempered people stay calm and do not let any frustrations upset them.
In other words, being outgoing and enduring may be considered the best strategy to find and maintain success in any area of our life.
С уважением, Онищенко Ксения

| 10. When you feel wound up what helps you to relax?
When I feel wound up after a long day, I seldom rest as I should've, but I'm working on it. Sometimes I'm being sensitive so when something is going wrong I can get upset easily. At such moments I try to be more easy-going and laid-back. I think the best way for me to relax is to take a walk and listen to some music or to call a friend that lives abroad. Our communication makes me feel more optimistic and less tense. Sometimes cleaning my room also helps me to feel better and it doesn't take much time. The key is to accept the fact that being sometimes a bit introverted is normal.

| 9. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an extrovert? An introvert? I guess being an extrovert has clear advantages and disadvantages. Extroverts are usually very SOCIABLE and GREGARIOUS, so they make friends easily and often feel CONFIDENT in group situations. They are often ASSERTIVE and SELF-ASSURED, which helps in discussions or presentations. However, sometimes extroverts are too PUSHY or even BOSSY without even noticing it, and this can create some conflicts. Introverts, on the other hand, are often QUIET but very INTELLIGENT and ENQUIRING. They tend to be GOOD listeners, and sometimes more TALENTED in creative tasks. The disadvantage is that introverts may seem SIMPLE or DIM to others, even though they are actually BRIGHT and SHARP, just less OPEN in social situations.
7. Have you ever met a crafty person and fallen prey to cunning?
Yes, I have met a CRAFTY person and fallen prey to her CUNNING. I had a classmate who was very CLEVER and SHREWD, but also quite UNPRINCIPLED. She often asked me to send her ready homework, always with excuses, and I could not say no. I was too NAIVE, GENEROUS, and EASY-GOING, and I wanted to be HONEST and HELPFUL. Looking back, I feel a bit FOOLISH and SILLY because she clearly took advantage of my kindness, while acting INNOCENT herself. This experience taught me an important lesson. Being KIND and RELIABLE is good, but it is also important to be DIRECT and CONFIDENT. Now I try to be more FRANK and set boundaries, so people cannot misuse my help. I still want to be TRUSTWORTHY and SINCERE, but not at the cost of being used again. It helped me grow and become less NAIVE.

| 6. How would you treat a person who never says a silly thing? I think I would treat them with respect, but I will keep distance with such person. I myself really like a good laugh, I like to laugh at stupid and weird things, so it would be hard for me to communicate with a person who is all serious. I don't think that I could be friends with such person.
10. When you feel wound up what helps you to relax? I often get anxious, and when I want to relax I might just turn off all the notifications on my phone, because messages and too much information just makes me overstimulated, and I might grab a cup of tea, some snacks and just sit in my room, playing videogames or doing different crafts while listening to my favourite music.
9. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an extrovert? An introvert? When the person is EXTROVERTERD, it is considered that they gain energy via social activities. They are usually very OPEN and GREGARIOUS, so it's easy to communicate with them. But, on the other hand, I think that they may sometimes be IMPOLITE, but not because they are RUDE, but because they just so chatty that they don't track everything they are saying. Introverts usually good at communicating with people, but they just may feel TENSE after social activities and they need their alone time to gain the energy back.
