| We must humble ourselves and then reestablish a correct relationship toward all of our fellow men. The main thing is to become one with the Lord; then He will teach us how to love our neighbor, for we do not know how—our love immediately becomes transformed into something material, for it has not been cleansed from the inside.
Elder Thaddeus (Strabulovich) of Vitovnica

| Yes, I see the point and I agree with it. Elder Thaddeus argues that true love for others must flow from inner spiritual purity, not from our ego’s impulses. Without humility and union with God, our love easily becomes possessive and self-serving, and, honestly, I saw such thing in my life: one person tried to help friends while secretly seeking validation. The result was tension, not care. The idea itself isn’t new to me, it can be found in Christ’s teaching that says "Out of our heart come evil thoughts" (Matthew 15:19). Yet I resist the implication that we can’t love rightfully until perfectly cleansed. Even imperfect love, like feeding the hungry for example or listening without judgment can reflect God’s light. Practically, this quote reminds me to pause before acting lovingly and think if I’m seeking connection with God first, or just my own agenda? It’s actually a good call to prayer before action.
