| He who abandons himself into the hands of God, without any plan of his own, will pass into God's plan. As long as man is hooked onto himself, he remains behind; he does not progress spiritually because he obstructs God’s mercy. In order to grow spiritually he must place great trust in God.

| I believe that everyone who experiences some level of uncertainty in their life should read this quote. In my opinion, it gives us more strength to rely on God. It also serves as a reminder that relying solely on others (even ourselves) is not a good idea. I understand that sometimes people may feel abandoned by God when they are trying to achieve something they believe will save their situation. However, from my personal experience, this is not the right path. God is always with us, and when things are not going well, we should stop and pray to find the solution within our souls. Achieving the state described in the quote is indeed challenging. In today's world, there are many difficulties and distractions that can pull us away from our spiritual path. Nevertheless, trying to live this way is something everyone should at least attempt.

| I agree with Saint Paisios of Athos. Every Christian must remember that he has free will. But we must not forget the Will of God. On the one hand, we are free to do as we wish, but on the other hand, every action we take must correspond with God's Will, otherwise what is the point of our faith? This is exactly what St. Paisios writes about. We must put ourselves in the hands of God, follow His plan, and only then we will reach the Kingdom of Heaven.
Of course, it is not easy to put ourselves in the hands of God, because God's Will is a great mystery that is not revealed to people simply like that. It is absolutely impossible to feel it without firm faith, without trust in God. When a person manages to trust God, he reaches incredible spiritual heights. We know many examples when God's Will was revealed to the saints and they saw no other way but to follow the Lord. But it is not necessary to be a saint to feel how to do the right thing. Experienced clergy advise to pray before making a decision and ask the Lord to show the right way, to reveal His Will. The merciful God does not abandon people and helps those who sincerely ask Him for help.

| I believe that self-reliance is a grave sin in Orthodoxy. It is, first and foremost, pride. A person who is self-reliant unconsciously believes that they are the creator of their own life and even the lives of others, which is probably what led to the original sin. Every Orthodox Christian should learn to deny themselves and rely on God.
The eve of the Feast of the Annunciation reminds us of the most significant example of relying on God's will and trusting in it. The Mother of God learned what was to come for her and responded, "Let it be unto me according to Your word" (Luke 1:38). Jesus himself gave us an example by accepting His fate and sacrificing Himself.
I truly believe that true happiness can only be found when a person completely trusts themselves to God.

| I suppose that to grow spiritually, a human must cultivate a practice of trust in God. This involves recognizing the limitations of human understanding and the vastness of divine wisdom. It is essential to engage in regular reflection and prayer. These help us to be more humble, because sometimes there are situations in which we absolutely don't understand what to do, and only God can help us.
In conclusion, the act of abandoning oneself into the hands of God is not a passive resignation but a courageous choice to trust in the divine plan of God our Lord. So, we need to accept that it's not possible for a human to plan everything, sometimes we just need to relax and let it flow, giving the situation into God's hands.

| I agree with the idea that being hooked onto oneself rather than God means spiritual stagnation. This happens when one focuses too much on avoiding sin instead of cultivating virtue, or tries to "earn" their salvation by works without trying to know and trust God more. This obstructs God's mercy not in the sense that it limits God's omnipotence or goodness, but in the sense that the person is not willing to receive God's mercy because of relying on one's own judgement and strength.
A biblical example that comes to mind is the account of St. Peter walking on water (Matthew 14:28-32). As long as he was focused on the Lord and His call, he could walk among the waves. As soon as he "saw the wind", he was afraid and began to sink, only to be saved by putting his trust in God again. Unless we "abandon ourselves into the hands of God", we will always focus more on what we can or cannot do according to our own ideas, not according to God's, whose ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).

| For many people, chaos, uncertainty and anxiety have become a normal part of life. If a person also suffers from lack of faith, it is difficult for him to trust anyone, since his trust was once betrayed, not to mention trusting in an invisible God. All this eventually gave rise to the desire to control everything. Many people have forgotten that it was said that not a hair falls from a person’s head without God’s will. On the one hand, when you make decisions, you have the impression that you can protect yourself and your loved ones from evil. In fact, the Lord helps to cope with everything through people and allows something to happen at the most appropriate time. We should not forget the main example, namely, Jesus Christ praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, who, knowing what would happen to Him, still denies His will. So we must denies our own will and trust in God.
