| My sentences from last semester:
1. THE PENTATEUCH consists of the first five books of the Bible.
2. All the Old Testament books from JOSHUA to ESTHER form the Twelve Historical Books of the Bible.
3. Some Old Testament books—Genesis and Isaiah for example—are read during VESPERS before Lent or Easter.
4. It is essential that we devote our life to God. If we are unwilling to do that, then our soul will PERISH.
5. When we feel that our soul begins to slumber, we must—in the words of Christ himself—TAKE UP OUR CROSS AND FOLLOW HIM (Jesus).
6. We, as Orthodox Christians, must invite the HOLY SCRIPTURES into our lives and live in accord with it. them

| 1. THE ICON SCREEN in my PARISH includes ancient ICONS and gold facing.
2. During THE DIVINE LITURGY I often pore over it.
3. PRIESTS and DEACONS perform the marvellous SACRAMENT in SANCTUARY and PARISHIONERS WORSHIP God.
4. These FERVENT PRAYERS always melt my heart.
5. The light of CANDLES and the smell of INCENSE create special atmosphere of REVERENCE.

| 1. He decided to become a PRIEST. 2. And recently he has UNDERTAKEN MISSIONARY WORK in the CHURCH. 3. Right now he is meeting HIS HOLINESS PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA, burning INCENSE, which is usually called in our PARISH "INCONCEIVABLE MYSTERY". 4. During the DIVINE LITURGY on ANNUNCIATION day he always feels HOLY GRACE in his soul. 5. He is doing his job great, and all BISHOPS and the ARCHIMANDRITE are very pleased.

| This Sunday a PRIEST from our church PREACHED from the AMBO about the Holy Trinity.
Only men can enter THE SANCTUARY.
I’ve been on two LITURGIES last week.
Last week my nephew was BAPTIZED.
The BISHOP’S THRONE is usually decorated with different ornaments.

| 1. HIS HOLINESS AND BEATITUDE CATHOLICOS-PATRIARCH OF ALL GEORGIA, ARCHIBISHOP OF MTSHETA AND TBILISI gave us a SANCTUARY tour in the nearest ORTHODOX CHURCH. 2. He told us about the TABLE OF OBLATION, THE SOLEA and THE AMBO. 3. After that he explained a little how to CELEBRATE THE SERVICE. 3. "CHRISTIAN WORSHIP is a such a hard thing" - I thought during his explanations about THE EUCHARIST. 4. THE ICON SCREEN was absolutely splendid. 5. At the end of our tour the PRIEST came and BLESSED our water.

| 1. I like my CHURCH for its COMMUNITY and its conscious PRIESTS.
2. During FASTS we provide support to each other and discuss our weaknesses.
3. There are different people among us: ICONOGRAPHERS, office workers, students, DEACONS and others.
4. When someone has problems, our PARISHIONERS say FERVENT PRAYERS for him.
5. Christian COMMUNITY like ours can help each person to understand himself and overcome his fears.

2. Usually THE PRIEST delivers his SERMON on THE SOLEA.
3. THE SANCTUARY is the most important part of a TEMPLE where priests celebrate the EUCHARIST.
4. I've started to read EPISTLES from the very beginning.
5. At our last year classes we studied GENESIS, EXODUS and a little bit of RUTH.

| 1) My friend is preparing to become a PRIEST.
2) Since early childhood, I have been interested in THE SACRAMENTS OF THE CHURCH.
3) The ANNUNCIATION is one of my favorite and brightest Orthodox holidays.
4) In our church the DOME is breathtaking.
5) I was BAPTIZED on the day of the TRANSFIGURATION OF THE LORD.

| 1. When I was little I wanted to become a priest, so, with the help of my grandfather, I created my own home-made CENSER.
2. I would go round the house and fill every room with a sweet FRAGRANCE.
3. I was also a friend of some SERVERS, whom I would often see at the CANDLE DESK.
4. I felt REVERENCE the first time I saw the radiant ICON SCREEN in the Church of the Nine Kyzikos Martyrs.
5. It came as a surprise to me to learn that the English name for the Russian Orthodox cross is the 'THREE-BAR CROSS'.

| 1. When I was a child I went to Orthodox school in my PARISH.
2. We learned chants, studiedCHURCH SACRAMENTS and THE GOSPEL.
3. Also we had Orthodox trips where we visited ancient CATHEDRALS, CHURCHES and MONASTERIES.
4. Our teachers showed us wonderful ICON SCREENS and told about ORTHODOX TRADITIONS.
5. Sometimes we stayed for the LITURGY, received THE HOLY COMMUNION and talked with SERVERS.

1. My cousin is a SERVER in a small CHURCH in Saint Petersburg.
2. He helps PRIESTS and DEACONS in the SANCTUARY, participates in THE DIVINE LITURGY and also cleans up THE CHURCH.
3. He feels certain that FERVENT PRAYERS and service of God is the best way to REDEMPTION.
4. My cousin reads one chapter from THE GOSPEL every day and actually can recite a few verses by heart.
5. Sometimes, we have Orthodox trips together, visit ancient MONASTERIES and CATHEDRALS.

There is THE TABLE OF OBLATION on the left side. 4. There is an ICON and the BISHOP'S THRONE behind the ALTAR. 5. In front of the ALTAR we can see THE SOLEA and THE AMBO.

2) When a PRIEST CENSES the church reverent FRAGRANCE REPLENISHES the SANCTUARY.
3) OIL LAMPS could be found in the ALTAR.
4) Sometimes a priest offers ALTAR LOAVES to his parish.
5) In the SERVICE OF PREPARATION altar loaves are used and the first one is THE LAMB.
6) We VENERATE MARTYRS in different ways: for example we LIGHT CANDLES or addressto them ours FERVENT PRAYERS.
7) There was a RELIC of the Life-giving Cross in our church on Tuesday.

In ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD there are three highest degrees such as BISHOP, PRIEST, DEACON. 7. Through THE SACRAMENT of MARRIAGE two persons become one in front of God.
